Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Lava Update: 5/15/11
DI inflation at the summit continued to weaken. The summit lava lake level remained stable. In the east rift zone, vents within Pu`u `O`o crater fed a lava lake perched in the middle of the crater floor with occasional overflows. Seismicity levels and gas emission rates remained generally low.

The summit lava lake remained at a stable level with a cascade of lava pouring from a higher, southern opening back into the lake. In the east rift zone, vents within Pu`u `O`o crater fed a lava lake perched in the middle of the crater floor. Seismicity levels and gas emission rates remained generally low.
