Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Lava Update: 6/26/11
Kilauea volcano's activity is stable and confined to supplying two lava lakes. At the summit, the lava lake level continued to fluctuate. In the east rift zone, sources within Pu`u `O`o crater fed a lava lake perched in the middle of the crater floor which frequently overflowed the rim. Seismicity levels remained low punctuated with strong tremor bursts at the summit and were slightly elevated within the east rift zone. Gas emissions were elevated - moderate from east rift zone vents and high from summit vents.
