An Inter-Island Tour to the Big Island's Kilauea Volcano You Don't Want to Miss

Don't let the beautiful island of Maui keep you from the world's most active volcano. Its a short flight to discover the Big Island and Mt. Kilauea.

Your arrival at the Hilo airport kicks off your tour and before arriving at the volcano, your guide will show off some of the island's hidden gems. Everyone wants to see that authentic waterfall while in Hawaii, and Hilo's Rainbow Falls is just that opportunity. You even get to see a black sand beach and learn exactly what causes the black sand.

Did you know that the Hawaii's volcanic past stretches throughout the entire island chain?

Each and every day, the volcanic activity from Mt. Kilauea adds to the size of the Big Island. The youngest of all the islands is also the largest, hence the name! The sites and scenery of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park are near endless and you get to see everything from Kilauea's steam vents, to the Jaggar Museum, overlooking the Halema'uma'u Crater. Extinct lava flows and current activity create the newest land on Earth, and that land is found right here in Hawaii.

Get ready for a sure highlight of your trip to Hawaii and memories that you can relive over and over again. Be sure to bring your camera because these are sites that you will want to share with all of your friends. star0star1star2star3star4  This tour was very good, Kalani is an excellent tour guide, he made the trip very pleasant, gave us a lot of information and made us feel so relaxed, we never felt in a hurry and we made all the stops, he was so nice that even invited us with 2 boxes of chocolates with Macadamia nuts. Thank you very much Kalani

star0star1star2star3star4  My friends and I went on this tour from Maui to the Big Island and Discover Hawaii made the whole experience fun and easy. Our tour guide was fantastic, he showed us all these cool spots on the Big Island we never would have found.

Thanks!

star0star1star2star3star4  I stayed on Maui with some friends and we knew we wanted to island hop for a day and see another Hawaiian Island. I\\\'m so glad I found this company, they made all the arrangements for us. The only thing to keep in mind is that you have to drive yourself to the airport in Maui (a beautiful drive). We were greeted at the Hilo airport by Tony who took great care of us the entire day, he made sure that we felt like his \"ohana\" or \"family\" by the end of the day.

We had a great day and my friends can\\\'t stop talking about it. The only thing was that I forgot to bring extra cash along, and I couldn\\\'t find an ATM anywhere, so if you want to purchase any souvenirs or snacks along the way make sure you bring cash and not just cards.

star0star1star2star3star4  My husband and I recently went to the Big Island with Discover Hawaii Tours after hearing so much about it from my brother who did the tour a month before. Our guide Phoenix was fantastic! We really had a good time, I have been talking to all of my friends about it. We saw a lot of very cool places around Hilo that we would have otherwise probably missed. The Volcanoes National Park was one of the highlights of the tour, second of course to the lava viewing.

The tour was amazing, we had a really great day and made some friends along the way too. The only downside was that we forgot to pack a light jacket and we got rained on throughout the day, but the rain made for some amazing waterfall pics! Thanks again Phoenix!

star0star1star2star3star4  My wife and I were on vacation in Hawaii and booked an inter-island flight and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park tour with Discover Hawaii Tours. I wanted to leave a review to tell everyone how great the tour was, even though we never got to see the volcanoes...

The reason we couldn't see the volcanoes was that they had recently erupted putting too much sulfur in the air and making it unsafe to breath. At first we were disappointed because we had come all the way to see the volcanoes and our day would be ruined, but the team at Discover Hawaii Tours helped save our day.

They were able to adjust the tour on the fly and bring us to some really amazing sites that we would not have been able to see otherwise, such as: Akaka Falls (amazing rainbow), Mauna loa macadamia nut farms, and orchid farms/nurseries. Our driver, Jonathon, couldn't have been more accommodating and knowledgeable about the local spots to hit. Thanks! Check out the pics.

At the end of the day, I think the best part about traveling is having unexpected things occur, and experiencing something different along the way. Sure we didn't get to see the volcanoes, but we did get to experience a little bit of what Hawaii locals do on a daily basis. Where else in the world are your plans interrupted by a volcano?

Going forward we always recommend Discover Hawaii Tours to all our friends because of our experience - they couldn't have been more helpful from start to finish.

Aloha

star0star1star2star3star4  Really enjoyed the tour on February 28. Phoenix was a storehouse of information on plants, local lore, and the volcano. It gave us another view of the Islands that we hadn't seen. Mahalo Phoenix
